Professional areas of Interest: Wireless/EM - I am more interested in what goes on Over the Air than the data, content, encryption/decryption, coding, protocols, The sheer property of the universe to allow us to transfer some energy in a controlled manner from one place to another is worth admiring. Call it wave theory or particle theory, what goes on in that invisible electromagnetic spectrum is truly mysterious, intriguing. Softwares and equations can only quantify so much based on theory, the rest is God like. Applications are numerous - Deep Space Communications, wireless power to terrestrial networks, microwave ovens to electromagnetic pulses, magnetic levitation if you come to think of it - the magic truly happens invisible to our eye. Renewable Sources of Energy - Wind, Solar, Hydro and biomass seem to be catching up, albeit with hiccups from the established fossil fuel sectors. However, I am talking about something more magnanimous. Space & Defense - This is such an exciting sector. Every other technological advancement we use today, such as GPS, radio came from here. This is the place which not only helps us to know our weather and map our route but also tries to find the answers to the "Who, Where, When, Why, How, What?" we are. When used constructively, the space and defense sector produces something that paves the way to a step further for the next generation. Working here not only has the cool factor, but the impact making contribution is huge. Automotive Design & Technology - The eye popping, mad, mind boggling, fast vrooming, eye blurring machines are a great piece of engineering. However, its quite a challenge to make something that looks good, works well with ease, comfortably accommodates 4-5 persons in it and is durable. That common passenger car design and technology is fascinating as well. Environmental consciousness - By now, we have all taken note of this. Mother nature wrecks havoc at some point of time to balance the order when things don't go her way. Bringing in cleaner technology in propulsion methods (be it space rocket or automobiles) will do a world of good, saving trees, using less paper, consume less power. Educating and creating awareness about the do's and don't about environmental sustenance occupies (must occupy) priority.
philosophy I like to call myself a disciple of systems engineering and technical management. It is amazing to see the wholeness of a situation. The challenges that come with making a system function well as a one single unit are intriguing. What I like about it is that there are numerous details, intricacies and compatibilities to look into and learn about the individual factors/components which make up the system. There are also a lot aspects to manage in such instances and each of them need to be worked with a different frame of mind. Putting things right where they belong is how my mind works. The underlying thought is to keep everything and everyone functional in harmony. It gives me a sense of fulfillment to see a satisfied person, or for that matter, an object working smoothly as if it is relaxed and at home. The end result produced must have a meaningful positive impact for the overall well being. I believe in trying out that outside chance after considering the risks before saying a solid 'No'. Working on intuition and feedback comes naturally to me. The drive to work towards making lives better keeps me motivated because its a long, tireless and never ending process.
